Empty Bowls is an much anticipated community annual event that brings together top-rated restaurant chefs and bowl artisans to offer delighted attendees the chance to sample deliciously-crafted soups and select from hundreds of pottery and wooden bowls. An Evening with Master Chefs

Join us as we celebrate 22 years of An Evening with Master Chefs at the elegantly renewed ballroom at the Durham Convention Center. We are excited to be back in Durham where so much great food is happening!
We start the evening with a reception featuring pass hors d’oeurves and spirits. While guests enjoy their food, they have the chance to bid on various silent auction items. The reception is followed by a multi course meal highlighting the unique talents of each chef. Over the course of the evening we will honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to cystic fibrosis research and care in the past year.
Live entertainment will be provided by The Gravy Boys. (please link to www.gravyboys.com) The evening will conclude with a live auction and special presentation to the chefs.
Proceeds from An Evening with Master Chefs benefit the work of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Hard Cider is made all over the world. It is our hope to showcase our local cidermakers and restaurants as well and offer you an opportunity to taste cider from all over the country and world.

Black Twig Cider House & Mattie B’s Public House are joining with Presenting Sponsor Harris Distributing and with the help of spectacular vendors, chefs, and culinary artisans are making Txotxfest one for the books! Hold on to your txotx, and basque in the camaraderie of this day.

FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER AT BLACK TWIG CIDER HOUSE

Friday November 17th, we have organized a small cider pairing dinner with Steven Goff of Brinehaus. We will be offering a 5 course dinner with 5 fantastic cider pairings for only $50! We want you to know what cider and food can be together.

The 5 course dinner will begin at 7pm at Black Twig Cider House. The menu and pairings will be announced shortly.

We are so excited about this addition to the weekend. We hope you are as excited!
The dinner is $50 per person to be purchased on this page. Gratuity is not included please plan accordingly.

A great meal can become an experience with the right wine pairing. Wine gurus Erin Mosier and Yianni Papinakas will each select wines to be paired with the evenings four course menu. During each course, you get to decide, who paired it best! Let’s splash a glass and raise some money for Durham Central Park! Seasonal selections from the Durham Farmers’ Market will provide a base for Chef Sam’s four course menu.
